Eating Disorders

Does how the media portrays men and women have an impact on the development of eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia and compulisve overeating?

Eating Disorders are serious psychiatric illnesses.

Twenty percent of people with an anorexia will die from their illness. People with bulimia can develop lifelong health problems. Many sufferers of eating disorders have low self esteem, anxiety, depression and may alsoself harm.

Do not suffer alone. Help is available and recovery is possible. If you have an eating disorder please speak with somebody you trust or your GP. There are also national charities which can provide you with information or support. In the UK you can contact B-eat.
